How HomeClaimGuide Uses Cookies

This site uses cookies for two purposes: analytics and affiliate referral tracking. This page explains what each cookie does, who sets it, and how to control or disable it.

A cookie is a small text file stored in your browser

When you visit a website, it may place a small file – called a cookie – in your browser. That file stores a piece of information, such as a session ID or a referral source, so the site or a third-party service can recognize your browser on a return visit or track an action you took.

Cookies do not give websites access to your device, your files, or any personal information beyond what you directly provide. They cannot run code or carry viruses.

HomeClaimGuide uses only the cookies necessary to operate analytics and affiliate referral tracking. No advertising cookies, no behavioral profiling, no third-party ad networks.

Three categories of cookies are active on this site

Analytics cookies – set by Google Analytics to measure page views, session duration, and traffic sources. Data is aggregated and anonymized. No personally identifiable information is collected.
Affiliate tracking cookies – set when you click a referral link to a public adjuster or attorney network. These record that you arrived from HomeClaimGuide so we can receive credit for the referral. They do not track your activity beyond the referral action.
Strictly necessary cookies – set by WordPress and your browser to maintain basic site functionality such as security tokens and session state. These cannot be disabled without breaking core site features.

You can disable or delete cookies at any time

  1. Browser settings: All major browsers allow you to view, block, or delete cookies via their privacy or security settings. Blocking all cookies may affect site functionality on some pages.
  2. Google Analytics opt-out: You can prevent Google Analytics from collecting data on your visits by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
  3. Affiliate tracking: Disabling third-party cookies in your browser will prevent affiliate tracking cookies from being set when you click referral links. This does not affect your ability to use any referral service.
  4. Do Not Track: HomeClaimGuide does not currently respond to Do Not Track browser signals, as there is no consistent industry standard for how to interpret them.

“Third-party cookies set by referral networks are outside our control once you click through. The data collected by those networks is governed by their own privacy policies – not ours.”

When you click a referral link and land on a partner network’s page, that network may set additional cookies under its own policy. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any service you connect with through this site before submitting your information.
